After originally leaving the school eight years ago, Bobby Petrino was introduced Thursday as the head coach at Louisville following the departure of Charlie Strong to Texas.
After meeting with the media, Petrino also met with his new team and while he spoke to the team, he brought out a player wearing Louisville’s alternate all-black uniforms that they never wore with Strong at the helm.

The players went nuts. The uniforms were first introduced in November and included an alternate black helmet as well. The thought was that the team would wear the uniforms for their Saturday night game against Houston on November 16, but a team spokesperson told the Courier-Journal’s Jonathan Lintner that they were just an Adidas model for show.

Strong apparently was more of a fan of the classic-looking uniforms. Maybe with Petrino in charge, the all-black uniforms will get some use in 2014.
