Despite losing his defensive line coach to the NFL, Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer still received some good news on Thursday. Quarterback Braxton Miller, a two-time Big Ten Conference MVP, will return for his senior season, the school announced.

“I want to help this team win a Big Ten championship next year,” Miller said in a press release. “Plus, I want to improve as a quarterback in all aspects of my game. I’m looking forward to working for another year with Coach Meyer and Coach (Tom) Herman. And I want to graduate, so this will help get me closer to my academic goal.”

Miller has led the Buckeyes to back-to-back 12-win seasons and has gained 8,346 yards of total offense and 84 touchdowns. Miller is one of the most dangerous dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation and has already amassed more individual Big Ten Conference awards (seven) than anyone in conference history.

Additionally, Miller needs six touchdown passes away to pass the school record in that category. He is also 505 yards away from Ohio State’s total yardage record and two touchdowns away from holding that school record.

In his junior year, Miller threw for 2,094 yards and 24 touchdowns while also running for 1,068 yards and 12 touchdowns. Ohio State's season ended with a 40-35 Orange Bowl loss to Clemson.
