Vad Lee is going to get a chance to play right away after transferring from Georgia Tech.

The former Tech quarterback announced via Twitter Monday that he is heading to James Madison University.

Yes, we realize that "apart" is vastly different than "a part," but James Madison is indeed the choice. Lee can play immediately because James Madison is an FCS school and by dropping down a level, he does not have to sit out a season. Currently a sophomore, Lee has two years of eligibility remaining after he redshirted in 2011. James Madison was 6-6 last season and plays in the Colonial Athletic Association.

He announced his intention to transfer from Georgia Tech shortly after the Yellow Jackets' loss to Ole Miss in the Music City Bowl. He told an ESPN reporter that "the triple option was never really my thing." That was an odd quote because that's Tech's style of offense. Coach Paul Johnson has been running that system for a long time. Lee was on 790 The Zone in Atlanta Tuesday morning and said this about his relationship with Johnson:

In 2013, Lee was 82-180 passing for 1,561 yards, 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He ran 182 times for 513 yards and 8 touchdowns. Justin Thomas and Tim Byerly also saw time under center for Georgia Tech last season and figure to have the edge for the starting job in 2014.
