New Missouri receiver Dorial Green-Beckham said Wednesday that his official visit to Missouri last weekend — where fans cheered his name and held up signs for him — was a key factor in him choosing the Tigers over Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma.
Apparently, that was just the beginning of DGB mania.
Shortly after Green-Beckham's announcement that he was indeed staying in-state and signing with Missouri, a billboard went up on Glenstone Ave., in his hometown of Springfield, Mo., welcoming his arrival to the Tigers.
No word on who put up billboard.
The "MIZ-DGB" is a play on Mizzou's "MIZ-ZOU" chant and the same thing fans were chanting to Green-Beckham throughout his time in Columbia, Mo. From the moment he arrived at the football offices on Friday, about 80 fans were there to greet him, chanting "MIZ-DGB."
Now that there's a billboard with Mizzou's new cheer, there's no doubt that it will become a staple at Faurot Field in the fall.
