Kentucky’s third-leading receiver, Demarco Robinson, is facing legal trouble after the junior was charged early Friday with disorderly conduct, violation of the noise ordinance and resisting arrest, according to a report from the Lexington Herald-Leader.

Robinson reportedly pleaded not guilty to the charges Friday. He declined to speak with reporters after the arraignment, but Robinson’s roommate Jerry Williams – a former walk-on cornerback who left the team in December – told the Herald-Leader that the incident was “a case of police brutality.”

Williams said that he and Robinson were playing video games when they heard a knock on the door of their apartment. Then things got interesting. From the report:

Williams said he opened the door and saw a Lexington police officer. Williams said he had a pet snake that was out, so he tried to shut the door to put the snake up. When he shut the door, the officer put his foot in the door to stop it. He asked Williams to come out. Williams refused to go out.

When he declined, Williams said the officer grabbed him by his neck. The officer said he was resisting arrest.

Williams said he put his hands up and said, "I'm not resisting."

Williams said the officer slammed him on his neck and his head. As he was handcuffed, Williams said he had a Taser to his head. Another officer had her Taser out.

According to the report, UK head coach Mark Stoops is aware of the incident and “will deal with the situation” when he returns to Lexington from recruiting. Robinson, who was third on the team with 20 catches for 213 yards and two touchdowns, was suspended for the final two games of the season for a violation of team rules.

It remains to be seen whether Stoops will allow Robinson to return to the Wildcats for his senior season.
