Professional golfer Brandt Snedeker has had a lot to say about the head coaching position at Vanderbilt lately.
When the news that James Franklin was a top candidate for the Penn State job, Snedeker, a Vanderbilt alum and Nashville native, offered Franklin free golf lessons for life if he stayed at Vanderbilt.
Sweetening the offer to keep @jamesfranklinvu here.. Free golf lessons for life if he stays.. Impossible to turn down!! #bestcoachanywhere

That generous offer didn’t yield any results when, a few days later, Franklin was introduced at Penn State. Now that Vandy has hired former Stanford defensive coordinator Derek Mason as head coach, Snedeker’s free lessons for life offer still stands for the new guy.
Excited about Derek Mason being named the next Vandy head coach.. Loved his defense at Stanford and can't wait to see him in the SEC! #VU — Brandt Snedeker (@BrandtSnedeker) January 18, 2014
The offer is still good for coach Mason.. Free lessons for life!! I'm all in!! #AnchorDown

Vanderbilt football showed appreciation of Snedeker’s passion for the program and wished him good luck in this weekend’s Humana Challenge in La Quinta, California.
Hey @BrandtSnedeker – we appreciate the congratulatory tweets. Here's to posting a 60 today in the desert! — VandyFootball (@VandyFootball) January 18, 2014
Even with his alma mater’s well wishes, Snedeker did not shoot a 60. He shot a 69 Saturday and a 70 Sunday to finish the tournament at -13, good for 58th place. Maybe he should concentrate on golf and give Twitter a break for a while.
