Could South Florida be joining the matte and chrome helmet craze in 2014?
USF special teams coordinator Stu Holt tweeted a picture of two different Bulls helmets. One is a matte green helmet with an oversized gold chrome logo and the other is a gold chrome helmet with a standard-sized green logo.

In 2013, USF wore four different helmets. The primaries were a white one with a green logo and a gold one with a green logo. The team also wore special patriotic helmets against Memphis in November and in September against Miami, USF wore a green helmet with a gold logo.
If the Bulls keep all of last year's helmets and add the two new ones to the rotation, that's six helmets for the upcoming season. A number that's triple the 2013 win total of South Florida. The Bulls were 2-10 last season.
Will the new lids help woo recruits to USF? It's certainly what the school would like. Though we're going to guess winning would help a little more. Baylor and Oregon's flash work well because of the programs' recent success. South Florida's may prove ineffective without more wins.
