Johnny Manziel’s Texas A&M career may be over, but there is still a chance for the quarterback to continue his playing career in the Lone Star State.
The Houston Texans have the top pick in May’s NFL Draft, and attorney and Texas A&M Board of Regents member Tony Buzbee has taken the initiative to try to persuade the Texans to draft Manziel.
Buzbee has launched www.DraftJohnnyManziel.com, a website that lists reasons why the Texans should draft Manziel, has a petition for Texans fans to sign, and has Manziel highlight videos and statistics. On top of that, Buzbee has put up billboards around the Houston area that plug the website and proclaim: "Keep Johnny Football in Texas!"

The website’s front page, which features a Photoshopped image of Manziel wearing a Texans uniforms, reads:
“Johnny Manziel is a winner and he is a unique talent--college football has never seen anything like him. Johnny Manziel has proven time and again that he has those skills needed to get the Texans back on track. If the Texans use their number one pick on Johnny, we will once again have hopes of Super Bowl glory.”
More than 600 people have signed the petition – which will apparently be sent to Texans owner Bob McNair -- and more than 1,600 have ‘liked’ the Draft Johnny Manziel Facebook page.
Manziel is considered by many to be the top quarterback in the draft, but Shutdown Corner’s Eric Edholm has Manziel being selected fourth by the Cleveland Browns in his latest mock draft and the Texans selecting South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney instead.
Buzbee and McNair are reportedly neighbors. Could this campaign help convince McNair to make a push for Manziel? Maybe. But he'd have to convince new coach Bill O'Brien first.
