"Regulators, mount up"

At least that's what we hope Washington coach Chris Petersen said when he secured the signature of Rivals three-star cornerback Naijiel Hale on Wednesday. Hale is the son of rapper Nate Dogg.

On Feb. 1, Hale announced on Twitter that he had decommitted from Arizona and committed to Washington. He was instrumental in recruiting DB Budda Baker – a member of Dr. Saturday's all-name team – to Washington with him. Baker is a four-star DB according to Rivals.

Hale was first recruited to Boise State by Petersen when he was the coach of the Broncos. When Petersen succeeded Steve Sarkisian as coach of the Huskies, he immediately pursued Hale to be part of Washington's recruiting class.

Washington finished No. 36 in Rivals' team rankings. Along with Baker, the team secured four-star recruits QB K.J. Carta-Samuels and OL Kaleb McGary. Carta-Samuels is the brother of former Wyoming and Vanderbilt QB Austyn Carta-Samuels.

Nate Dogg passed away in 2011. That year, Hale told TMZ that he was looking to start his own music career. However, given his commitment to Washington, football may be the best bet right now.
