Former South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is considered by many draft experts to be the top prospect available in the May NFL Draft. Clowney has had his share of critics, many of whom have questioned his motor and every-down effort. Add former Auburn Dee Ford to his list of critics.

Ford, another probable first-round selection, said that he is flat-out better than Clowney when being interviewed on Sirius XM radio.

“I’m better. Let’s put it like this. People like to talk about size all the time. Size is pretty much overrated in my eyes,” Ford said. “You can look at guys like Robert Mathis, Elvis Dumervil, Von Miller. These are 6-foot-2 guys and under. People are just looking at the fact that he’s a physical specimen. Honestly if you watch the film, he plays like a blind dog in a meat market basically.”

Ford spoke about his technique and how much film he watches, and by those comments, it seems that Ford doesn’t think Clowney’s game is quite as polished.

Ford registered 10.5 sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss in his final year at Auburn.
