Welcome to Dr. Saturday's College Football Madness. Ever wondered how the 2013 college football season could have turned out with a 68-team playoff? You've come to the right spot. While 68 teams participate in the NCAA tournament, we're running an expanded college football playoff. And you're in charge. Each matchup is open to a vote and the team with the most votes in each game moves on to the next round.
The Final Four is set, and we've got one team playing in both of them.
Wisconsin, who is in North Texas to play Kentucky on Saturday in real life, beat Northern Illinois in the Elite Eight to move on to the semifinals of our College Football Madness tournament. Sorry Jordan Lynch, your run has ended.
The same sympathy goes to Utah State, who saw its miraculous run ended by LSU in Region 1. The Aggies, who beat Notre Dame, Missouri and Oregon, are also going home.
Because of the unpredictable nature of the voting process, we were wondering if the SEC's perceived dominance would translate to this bracket. Would people go against the SEC, or would conference-backers rise up and vote for their own?
Based of the performances of LSU and Alabama, it was the latter. The rematch of the 2012 BCS Championship Game is one of our semifinals, while the Badgers will play Fresno State in the other. We're guaranteed a SEC team into the title game. Will it be against a Big Ten or Mountain West team?
Voting for the Final Four is open until 3 p.m. ET Saturday, April 5. Voting for the championship game will open Monday, April 7. Who will be playing in it? It's up to you.
Alabama vs. LSU
In case you had forgotten, the Crimson Tide won 38-17 in November. And that game was with LSU QB Zach Mettenberger.
Wisconsin vs. Fresno State
This is quite the contrast in offensive styles. Do you like the Wisconsin running game or Fresno's passing attack?
