Houston is a year away from making its foray into the Big East and to celebrate the occasion the school has decided to go through a rebranding.
Houston totally redesigned its website and unveiled a couple new logos. The newly designed "UH" logo is classic with the U intertwined with H, no problem there. It's the mascot logo that has us scratching our heads a little bit. It's basically a current version of the Thundercats logo. Remember the Thundercats? It was cartoon about cats that kinda looked like men and saved the world against evil in the early 80s.
The Houston Cougars are Thundercats 2.0.
And that's not necessarily a bad thing considering they did fight evil and all that.
OK, perhaps its Thundercats meets the K-State Powercat. Either way, I thought Houston's old logo was fine. Not sure why they felt the need to change it. I get that it's out with the old and in with the new, but sometimes if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it (yes, that was a cliché rant).
