Texas A&M wide receiver Speedy Noil has emerged as a favorite target of quarterback Kenny Hill early in the season, making what appeared to be an MCL injury against Rice two weeks ago a concerning one for the Aggies. But miraculously, Noil is suiting up Saturday against Arkansas in AT&T Stadium. Why is it miraculous? Well, let’s take you back.
Leading up to the Week 3 shellacking of SMU, Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin confirmed that Noil wouldn’t play, and GigEm247 reported that the receiver was expected to miss approximately three to five weeks and atrributed it to an MCL issue. AggieYell.com disputed the length of the recovery (sixth question down) thanks to how emphatic head coach Kevin Sumlin was in disagreeing with it. But then, it became clear before the game against Arkansas that Noil was doing better than expected.
Turns out after undergoing minor surgery, Noil was in practice and making cuts at full speed this week, just over a week after the procedure. And just like that, he was ready to play against Arkansas, and had a touch by the Aggies' third drive of the game. They apparently do everything at breakneck speed at Texas A&M, including heal.
