Cincinnati's uniforms will look different in 2015.
Under Armour announced Thursday that the school has signed a deal with the apparel company for all of its athletic uniforms. The Bearcats were with Adidas in 2014.
“We are honored to partner with one of the most innovative and respected companies in the world," Cincinnati athletics director Mike Bohn said in a statement. “Kevin Plank and his team represent a unequivocal commitment to student-athletes and their energy and vision is incomparable. Under Armour provides a tremendous boost to the entire institution for what we call the #HottestCollegeInAmerica.”
Yes, you just read that correctly. An official statement from an athletic director included a hashtag. Welcome to 2015.
According to Under Armour, Cincinnati is the 15th D1 school to sign an agreement with the company. Notre Dame switched to Under Armour uniforms for 2014 (from Adidas too) and the company has become known for it's Maryland designs.
UA has kept Notre Dame's uniforms pretty traditional – for obvious reasons – and we're going to guess that it will have creative freedom with Cincy's football uniforms like it does with Maryland's. We can totally see some unique styling with the Bearcat claws from the school's logo.
