Michigan State WR Macgarrett Kings Jr. has accepted a plea deal that reduces his two misdemeanors to an infraction for littering.
Kings had been charged with drunken and disorderly conduct and obstructing, resisting, hindering or assaulting a police officer from a February 28 incident where he allegedly kicked a parking vehicle.
However, he accepted a plea deal in late March and has been practicing since the plea deal was in place. At the time of his arrest, Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio said that Kings was "in limbo" as he was not listed on Michigan State's first spring roster.
The Detroit Free-Press obtained details of the police report which says Kings had a blood-alcohol content of 0.18. The officer who arrested Kings said a group of men stopped a parking truck as it tried to turn down an alley.
Kings then "ran after the truck," Bove wrote, "(and) when he caught up to it, I watched him jump into the air and kick the back of the truck."
Bove wrote that he approached Kings, identified himself as "police" and tried to arrest him while telling the unidentified males with Kings to back away.
"I repeated to Kings between 10-15 times to get against the patrol car and place his hands behind his back," Bove wrote, "however he did not, he kept tensing up, attempting to spin towards me and failed to comply with my orders. I had a tight grip on his right arm but could not see his left hand, which was in his waistband area, and Kings would not listen to my orders to place his hand behind his back until backup arrived."
Kings had 29 catches for 404 yards last season and missed the 2014 spring practice season after an OWI. He was sentenced to 13 months probation after that arrest and after his 2015 plea deal must pay $360 in fines and attend alcohol counseling sessions.
