Three members of the Georgia Southern defense have been suspended indefinitely following arrests.
According to the Statesboro Herald, Ross Alexander and Kurt Oehlbeck were charged with “possession of a schedule I controlled substance and criminal trespass.” Additionally, Alexander Yost was charged with “criminal trespass and criminal attempt to commit a felony.”
The program announced their suspensions in a statement Thursday.
“They are suspended indefinitely until the conclusion of their legal process,” athletic director Tom Kleinlein said. “Their status on the team will be reevaluated after that time.”
Alexander, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound defensive end, played in six games as a true freshman in 2014 and registered three tackles. Oehlbeck, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound redshirt sophomore linebacker, played in two games last season and had two tackles. Yost, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound safety, did not appear in a game for the Eagles last season.
