LSU's trip to Texas A&M was played on Thanksgiving night in 2014. Don't expect the game to be in the same timeslot in 2015.
Last year's game was in College Station, Texas, and broadcast on ESPN. According to LSU athletic director Joe Alleva, television networks want the game to be on Thanksgiving again in 2015. But he said that isn't going to happen.
“As long as I’m here, we will not play in Tiger Stadium on a Thursday,” Alleva told the Baton Rouge Advocate. “I guarantee you that.”
A&M and Texas played on Thanksgiving night (or the Friday after Thanksgiving) for the duration of their rivalry in the Big 12. But, as you know, it's done and gone for now as the schools can't seem to want to figure out a way to play each other.
Last year's game against LSU was the first time the Aggies played on Thanksgiving in the SEC; the previous two years featured games against Missouri on the last Saturday of November.
Before last season, LSU traditionally played Arkansas on the Friday after Thanksgiving. With the SEC's cross-division rivalries tweaked to start 2014, Arkansas and Missouri played on the Friday after Thanksgiving last year. However, the game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 28 this year, leaving the Friday open for LSU and Texas A&M if the game isn't played on Thursday.
A date for the game could be official at the SEC spring meeting, which starts next week.
