According to FOX Carolina, Ogundeko was arrested Tuesday and charged with one count of financial transaction fraud.

Clemson police chief Jimmy Dixon told FOX Carolina that Ogundeko was "using his own credit card but somehow worked with another individual to change the magnetic strip on the back to a different number."

Clemson took a hit to its depth along the defensive line on Tuesday.

Head coach Dabo Swinney announced that sophomore defensive end Ebenezer Ogundeko has been dismissed from the team.

“Ebenezer Ogundeko has been dismissed from the Clemson football team for a violation of team rules and behavior detrimental to our football team,” Swinney said in a statement. “We wish him well.”

Ogundeko, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., redshirted his first season on campus in 2013 and appeared in seven games for the Tigers last season, registering five tackles on defense and special teams.

He acknowledged his departure from the university on Instagram.

“I wanna thank Clemson University for giving me an opportunity to grow as a man and experience things I never thought of,” Ogundeko wrote. “But unfortunately I have to move on with my life and leave Clemson.”

Ogundeko was a Rivals four-star recruit and the top-rated player from New York in the 2013 class.
