(Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports)LSU head coach Les Miles’ son Manny – a 2015 quarterback prospect from University High in Baton Rouge – has made his college decision, and he won’t be playing for his dad.

According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Manny is headed to the ACC to play for North Carolina as a preferred walk-on.

“This was something that took a lot of time and thinking about after lots of talks with the parents,” Manny told the Times-Picayune. “It felt right when I went there, and their coaches were great. So when I came back, I just thought it would be a great place for me. They run similar things that our high school did, and I felt like I fit that system right, so might as well stay in it for a couple more years.”

Both LSU and Michigan – his father’s alma mater – were under consideration for Manny, but he ultimately decided on Chapel Hill.

“LSU was a huge consideration,” Manny said. “I love the coaches. I really do (love) both of them – coach Cam (Cameron) and my dad – but I just feel like UNC fits me better.”

Manny added that contact with Michigan faded when the Wolverines made a coaching change to bring in Jim Harbaugh.

“When they got a new coaching staff, conversation stopped and never picked back up,” Manny said.

Manny, who’s listed at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, led his team to a Division II state championship in December. Despite missing several games with an ankle injury, he threw for 1,952 yards and 23 touchdowns.
