Jimbo Fisher has reportedly responded to two alleged incidents involving Florida State players at bars by banning players from bars.
According to Jim Henry of the Tallahassee Democrat, the Florida State coach met with his players and issued the decree after former quarterback De'Andre Johnson's dismissal Monday and the warrant issued for running back Dalvin Cook on Friday.
Cook allegedly punched a woman outside of a Tallahassee bar on June 23. He turned himself in to authorities on Friday evening. A day after Cook's alleged incident, Johnson punched a woman at a bar. Both players were charged with battery and Johnson's incident was captured on video. It is currently unknown if the alleged incident with Cook is on surveillance video.
Friday afternoon, Fisher and Florida State president John Thrasher issued statements saying unlawful behavior was not tolerated.
Is this the right plan of action for the Seminoles? While bars are the common denominator among the alleged incidents, bars themselves aren't to blame for the actions of people. We'll see if the reported rule is an effective deterrent.
