Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen wants you to recognize his swag, so he debuted his brand new Adidas Yeezy Boost’s – the sneaker designed by Kanye West – at SEC Media Days.
Mississippi State is an Adidas school, so Mullen and his players get plenty of gear. When asked about his kicks, Mullen said the folks at Adidas recommended the Boosts.
“I try to be swagged up," he said. "I got a little sock game going, too. I was talking to the guys at Adidas, and they’re like, ‘Hey this is the hottest shoe.’ I’m like, ‘Well, I like to wear kind of cool shoes I think when I go somewhere.’ I don’t go too overboard with the suits sometimes, a little more conservative that way. But with the sock game and the shoe game, I try to have some swag whenever I can.”
It wasn’t just talk from Mullen, either. He really wore them, and wore them well.
The Yeezy’s are pretty smooth, but how do they compare to last season’s custom adidas “Stark Vegas” sneakers?
No matter which shoe you prefer, you have to admit that Mullen is setting the standard for swag among head coaches in the SEC.
