(AP Photo/Mark Wallheiser,File)Six weeks after his dismissal from Florida State, De’Andre Johnson has landed at East Mississippi Community College, according to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy.

According to McMurphy, Johnson is enrolled at EMCC as a full-time student and expects to play this season. The school’s fall semester begins on Monday.

Johnson, a freshman quarterback, was dismissed from the Seminoles program in early July after video surfaced of him punching a woman in the face at a bar. Johnson, who apologized in an appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America, was charged with misdemeanor battery and has pled not guilty. He currently has a pre-trial date in Tallahassee scheduled for Aug. 26 – one day before East Mississippi’s season begins.

A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Johnson enrolled at Florida State in January after graduating from high school early. He was rated as a four-star recruit and was behind Sean Maguire on FSU’s depth chart at quarterback during the spring. With Notre Dame transfer Everett Golson joining the program, Johnson was not considered a contender to earn the starting role.

At East Mississippi, Johnson, 19, joins a program coming off back-to-back National Junior College Athletic Association championships.

The Lions won the 2014 title with Chad Kelly at quarterback. Kelly landed at EMCC after his dismissal from Clemson. He’s now competing to start at Ole Miss.
