Nebraska unveiled the jerseys that it will wear against Wisconsin September 29 on Friday and they're a departure from the Cornhuskers' customary uniforms.
The traditional white helmet with red stripe and "N" is black, and perhaps most striking is the large black block "N" in the middle of the chest on the front of the red jersey instead of the player's number. The front number moves to near the left shoulder, a similar place where soccer team patches are traditionally placed. The pants are also red, creating a monchromatic look that has become commonplace in recent years. Much like Notre Dame's 'Play like a champion today' gloves, Nebraska's glove's will feature the "N" on the palms.
Adidas, the maker of the Cornhuskers' jerseys, is billing the matchup between Adidas schools as the "Unrivaled Game." Adidas says the TECHFIT jerseys reduce the weight of the jersey by 30 percent and Wisconsin's (presumably all white) jerseys will be unveiled next week.
