Texas will reportedly be without the services of a key potential offensive contributor in 2015 as TE Blake Whiteley will miss the season.

According to Orangebloods.com, Whiteley has been dealing multiple unspecified injuries. He has not yet had surgery.

"He's definitely had one or two things that have hampered him for a while. He's been toughing it out. The latest development has changed things quite a bit. He won't be playing," I'm told. "It's very unfortunate, especially when people understand that he's been fighting through two different injuries."

Whiteley could petition for a medical redshirt for the season. He redshirted in 2014 after transferring to Texas from Arizona Western Community College and was rated as one of the best junior college tight end recruits in the country.

His absence for 2015 means Texas is even thinner at the tight end position. Andrew Beck is the projected starter, and according to Horns Digest, he recently suffered a knee injury in practice. The severity of the injury is unknown.

And the two injuries are in in addition to the report that 4-star commit Devonaire Clarington, the No. 9 tight end in the class of 2015, will reportedly have to retake his ACT to be eligible.

Clarington posted to Twitter and said that "whatever happens" he's still going to Texas. According to Orangebloods, he could spend the upcoming season at a prep school.
