The highest-rated player in Maryland’s 2015 recruiting class is no longer with the program.
According to a report from the Washington Post, defensive tackle Adam McLean “has been dropped” from the team’s roster due to an “initial NCAA eligibility issue.” A school spokesperson confirmed the news to the Post and said McLean is no longer enrolled at the University.
The report says McLean’s issue is “related to academics.”
McLean, a four-star recruit from Quince Orchard High School (Md.), was redshirting this season as he worked his way back from a knee injury he suffered as a high school senior. Rivals.com rated him as the second-best prospect from Maryland in the 2015 class and the No. 160 overall recruit nationally.

Coming off a home loss to Bowling Green, the Terps (1-1) host USF (1-1) at noon on Saturday.
