Syracuse punter Riley Dixon not only got to keep the ball on a fake field goal for the Orange, he got to hurdle an LSU defender in the process.
Dixon, who lined up to attempt the long field goal, got the first down with his run and showed off some leaping ability. It wasn't a perfect hurdle, but it was solidly executed.
He was incredibly excited afterwards too; he punched the air. One problem, there was an LSU player in the way. Thankfully he avoided inciting any melee.
The fake field goal came with less than a minute to go in the second quarter and Syracuse trailing the No. 8 Tigers 7-3. The Orange couldn't punch the ball into the end zone before the half was over and settled for another field goal attempt. That attempt was handled by kicker Cole Murphy. And it went off the upright to keep the score 7-3 at halftime.
It was the second time Dixon's been a part of a notable fake field goal over the past two seasons. In 2014, Dixon threw a touchdown pass on a fake field goal to win the Orange's season-opener against Villanova.
