Florida State defensive back Trey Marshall will miss the rest of the regular season, but Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher told Warchant.com that it’s possible Marshall could return for a bowl game.
Marshall, who suffered a torn biceps tendon against Louisville on Saturday, is scheduled to undergo surgery soon.
Marshall, a sophomore, has been the team’s starting nickel cornerback this season and has 21 tackles – sixth-best on the Seminoles. After Marshall went down in the 41-21 win over the Cardinals, seniors Tyler Hunter and Javien Elliott, a former walk-on, saw time on defense. Elliott, who mainly plays on special teams, recorded a big interception in the third quarter.
Fisher told Warchant that freshmen Tarvarus McFadden and Marcus Lewis could also see more time with Marshall out.
The Seminoles, now 6-0 overall and 4-0 in ACC play, face Georgia Tech (2-5, 0-4) on the road on Saturday.
