Michael Brewer will return as Virginia Tech’s starting quarterback this week against Duke, coach Frank Beamer and offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler said during their press conferences Monday.
Brewer has not started since breaking his collarbone in the season opener against Ohio State. He did play in the third quarter against Miami last weekend, his first medically cleared game action.
Brenden Motley started in Brewer’s absence and went 3-3. He threw for 1,155 yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also ran for 220 yards and three scores.
Against the Hurricanes, Brewer completed three of his four passes for 65 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
