Maryland will wear throwback uniforms when it takes on Penn State on Saturday.
The program unveiled the uniforms on Monday and said they are inspired by the 1961 Terps team, which registered the program’s first-ever win over the Nittany Lions. Take a look:
After Maryland knocked off PSU on Nov. 4, 1961, Penn State won or tied (28 wins, one tie) the next 29 games in the series until the Terps knocked off the Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium last year.
Saturday’s game, which will be played at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, will be the first for the Terps under interim head coach Mike Locksley, who is filling in for the fired Randy Edsall.
Maryland is 2-4 on the season and has lost three straight games. Penn State dropped to 5-2 with a loss at Ohio State over the weekend.
