Georgia freshmen Natrez Patrick and Chauncey Rivers have been suspended by coach Mark Richt after they were arrested for misdemeanor possession of marijuana early Wednesday morning.

"They made a very poor decision and I’m extremely disappointed," Richt said in a statement. "They will be disciplined in an appropriate manner and hopefully have learned a valuable life lesson that will benefit them moving forward."

The Georgia athletic department drug and alcohol policy requires at least a one-game suspension for these types of offenses.

According to the booking report, Patrick, an inside linebacker, was released on $1,000 bond around 6:45 a.m. Rivers, a defensive end, was still being held on $1,000 bond at the time of this post.

Patrick has 13 tackles in seven games and Rivers had one tackle in two games while playing on special teams.
