Bowling Green WR Gehrig Dieter's second-quarter touchdown was thanks to instant replay.

OK, it was a product of an incredible catch too. But Dieter was only granted the catch against Toledo on Tuesday thanks to the freeze-frame ability of replay. Here's how it looked in slow motion. Even at a reduced rate of speed the completion is borderline.

But when you really slow it down you can see that Dieter gained possession right as his toe was still on the ground. The pass was initially ruled incomplete on the field and reversed to a touchdown after it was examined by officials.

The touchdown brought Bowling Green, 8-3, to within 30-14 at halftime. Toledo, 9-1, ended up winning the game 44-28 to keep pace in the MAC West. The Rockets entered the game in a three-way tie with Western Michigan and Northern Illinois for first-place in the division. All have one loss but NIU beat Toledo and has the head-to-head tiebreaker. The Rockets play Western Michigan next week. WMU plays Northern Illinois on Wednesday.

Bowling Green clinched the MAC East last week.
