John L. Smith is getting quite cozy in his new role as Arkansas' one-year coach.
During Monday's press conference, Smith arrived about 10 minutes early and decided to prank call reporter Nate Allen, who hadn't shown up yet.
"Hey, we're starting now, OK?" Smith said into the phone. "We are starting now. Where are you? Dollar waiting on a dime, sweetheart. Get here."
It's all fun and games when you win your season opener 49-24.
When Allen finally arrives, he gives Smith a little ribbing of his own regarding a practice that ended later than scheduled.
I would say this is a stark contrast to Bobby Petrino's press conferences.
