It appears the Florida State career of Lorenzo Featherston may have reached an end.
At a booster event in Jacksonville Monday night, Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher told reporters that the junior defensive end will “most likely” receive a medical disqualification due to a knee injury that caused him to miss most of the 2015 season.

“Featherston most likely will be a medical DQ unfortunately. He was a really significant player,” Fisher said via Warchant.com (at the 6:45 mark of the video below). “That’s part of football and we’ve recruited well so we’ll be able to fill in those spots. “
Featherston sat out most of spring practice and Fisher indicated last month that his career could be coming to an end.

Featherston had arthroscopic surgery on the knee prior to last season and was able to see action in just four games for the Seminoles. He was expected to be a major contributor in 2015 after registering 19 tackles and five tackles for loss in 2014 as a true freshman, but the knee issue lingered.
The 6-foot-7, 218-pound Featherston was a three-star recruit in the 2014 class.
