Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. was carted off the field on a stretcher after a nasty landing out of bounds in the second quarter vs. Ohio State. Thankfully, he returned to the sidelines in the second half.
Armstrong was scrambling out of bounds when he was hit cleanly below the waist. He tumbled forward and landed headfirst on the turf.
He was immediately motionless after the hit and was tended to by medical staff from both teams. Trainers cut off his shoulder pads and jersey and he was strapped to a backboard and placed in a neck brace. An ambulance was driven down the Ohio Stadium tunnel and Armstrong was transferred to the ambulance on the field before the game began.

Armstrong gave the crowd a thumbs up as he was carted off and the Ohio State crowd started chanting “Tommy, Tommy.” Nebraska said Armstrong was talking while on the field and was able to move all his extremities.
Per @HuskerSports Network Tommy Armstrong is talking and it looks like everything is just precautionary at this point. Great to hear.

Armstrong returned to Nebraska’s sideline in the third quarter after he was checked out at a local hospital.
Armstrong re-enters stadium wearing hospital scrubs. Walking briskly. Entering field area now to loud ovation. #Huskers
