Washington won't have a key part of its offense when it opens the season Saturday by hosting No. 19 Boise State in the refurbished Husky Stadium.

Tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins, a preseason All-American, has been suspended for the game after pleading guilty to DUI charges over the summer, the Seattle Times reported citing unnamed sources.

Seferian-Jenkins was sentenced to 364 days in jail and had 363 of those days suspended by the court. He spent one night in jail in July.

There was some question earlier this month about whether Seferian-Jenkins would be healthy enough for the opener after breaking a bone in his pinky and undergoing surgery in mid-August. He was cleared to play by the team's medical staff this week.

Seferian-Jenkins made six catches for 61 yards and a touchdown against Boise State in the Las Vegas Bowl in December. He holds most major Washington receiving records for tight ends and is a projected first-round draft pick in the NFL next spring.

Bottom line, he will be missed in the Husky offense and the Boise State defense can breath a little easier heading into the game.
