Standout Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd threw his 96th career touchdown pass Thursday night against Georgia Tech, surpassing Philip Rivers for the most touchdown passes in ACC history.
The record-setting toss, a 76-yard strike to Martavis Bryant, was the third of four touchdowns Boyd would throw for the No. 8 Tigers as they knocked off the Yellow Jackets 55-31.
Boyd threw for 340 yards on the night before suffering a scary injury in the third quarter. At the conclusion of a seven yard scramble, Boyd landed hard on his left shoulder and remained down on the field before heading to the locker room. Initial fears were that Boyd had broken his collarbone, but Boyd told ESPN’s Joe Schad he had no broken bones.
