Virginia Tech will be without its two starting senior cornerbacks Saturday when the Hokies host Maryland for Senior Day. According to the Virginia Pilot, Kyle Fuller and Antone Exum have been ruled out with groin and ankle injuries, respectively.
Though he has played in every game, Fuller has been hampered by the groin problem since the injury took place during the team’s bye week in October, and now the injury will finally force him to sit out. Fuller has registered 24 tackles and two interceptions on the year.
Exum returned from an offseason ACL tear in the October 26 loss to Duke, but injured his ankle in Tech’s win over Miami last Saturday. In his three games played, Exum has registered four tackles.
Fortunately for the Hokies, true freshmen Kendall Fuller and Brandon Facyson have both been impressive this season, combining for nine interceptions. They’ll get the start for the Hokies Saturday at Lane Stadium.
