Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds is the new NCAA single-game rushing touchdown record holder for quarterbacks.
Reynolds ran for seven touchdowns against San Jose State in the Midshipmen's 58-52 win, including one that his coach wasn't too happy about late in the fourth quarter.
With Navy winning 31-30 and less than three minutes left in the fourth quarter, Reynolds ran around right end and scored as coach Ken Niumatalolo had his hands up almost begging Reynolds to stop. Why? Well, he didn't want San Jose State to have time to score.
And that's just what happened. Down eight, David Fales hit Kyle Nunn on a touchdown pass on a play that started just before the clock hit zero. Fales then hit Chandler Jones for the two-point conversion.

In the third overtime, after both teams traded touchdowns, Reynolds scored from 25 yards out and Fales tossed an interception to give Navy the win.
And get this, Reynolds attempted six passes on the night, meaning that he had more rushing touchdowns than pass attempts. He finished with 36 carries for 240 yards on the ground and was 4-6 through the air for 46 yards and Navy's other touchdown.
"Guys are blocking their butts off the whole game," Reynolds said, per the SportsXchange. "I think that definitely had something to do with it. We pride ourselves on grinding people, and grinding them and grinding them until they don't want to play us anymore. Hats off to my teammates."
The single game mark for total rushing touchdowns is eight, set by Illinois RB Howard Griffith in 1990. (Though the the game was against Southern Illinois.) The record for quarterbacks was six, set by Dee Dowls for Air Force in 1989 and Craig Candeto for Navy in 2002.
