The knee injury that Zach Mettenberger suffered against Arkansas will force him to miss LSU's bowl game.

ESPN is reporting that Mettenberger has a torn ACL. He got hit in the left knee in the fourth quarter of the Tigers' game against Arkansas. The throw right before the hit was great, as was the catch. Jarvis Landry made a one-handed catch over his defender.

Mettenberger is also reported to have a sprained MCL, which will have to heal before the surgery to repair the ACL is done. He could be able to throw in drills before April's NFL Draft, but the surgery will mean that any significant drills involving the knee are likely out.

The senior threw for 3,082 yards this season and 22 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He was replaced by Anthony Jennings against Arkansas, who led the Tigers on its winning touchdown drive. Jennings would replace Mettenberger for the bowl game as well.
