Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray has found a new way to rehab his torn ACL – by swimming with sharks.
While in Atlanta for an autograph event this past weekend, Murray, who had surgery to repair his torn ACL on Nov. 26, and girlfriend Kacie McDonnell stopped by the Georgia Aquarium to participate in the Journey with the Gentle Giants program. Murray and McDonnell got into a football field-sized pool with wetsuits, scuba equipment and some whale sharks.
Yes, whale sharks.
The Georgia Aquarium was so excited about Murray’s visit it emailed out photos and info about it. It even looks like one shark gets a little too close for McDonnell's comfort.
Murray is already walking without crutches and said his goal is to be back on the field to work out for NFL scouts in April. He also plans to attend – though not participate – in the Senior Bowl and the NFL combine.
Guess swimming with sharks is one way to test how much the knee has healed.
