Blake Anderson is Arkansas State's fifth head coach in five years. But that shouldn't be a scary proposition for him.
After Hugh Freeze, Gus Malzahn and Bryan Harsin all took over the program for a season and moved on to bigger schools, the North Carolina assistant is the newest coach of the Red Wolves.
I'm excited to announce Blake Anderson as our new head football coach! More details coming soon @AStateRedWolves & https://t.co/INKofc39c3

Anderson, North Carolina's offensive coordinator, moved to Chapel Hill with coach Larry Fedora from Southern Miss two seasons ago.
Freeze left after the 2011 season to take over at Ole Miss and Malzahn moved to Auburn (and the BCS Championship Game) after the 2012 season. Harsin, a former Boise State assistant, left for the Broncos after Chris Peterson went to Washington to replace Steve Sarkisian, who left for USC.
Got all that? Simply put, Arkansas State has become the premiere steppingstone for college coaches. And for a school in the Sun Belt Conference, that's not a bad thing at all. While the school undoubtedly wants Anderson to have immediate success, it also probably wouldn't be too unhappy if that success was muted a bit to ensure that he stayed as coach for a few seasons. Do you think Mohajir would want to do another search in the 2014 offseason?
