Start getting excited for Michigan's game against Florida in more than three years.
The schools announced Wednesday that they would play each other in the 2017 Cowboys Classic at AT&T Stadium on September 2.
Michigan played in the game in 2012 against Alabama. The Wolverines lost 41-14. It's the first Cowboys Classic appearance for Florida.
Per MLive.com, the payout for Michigan has not been announced while Florida Today is reporting that the Gators will receive $6 million for playing in the game. That's quite the nice haul. The Wolverines received $4.7 million in 2012.
The series started in 2009 when BYU played Oklahoma. The Cougars won that game 14-10 and you may remember that game for then-Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford's shoulder injury. In the 2013 game, LSU beat TCU 37-27.
Matchups for the 2014 and 2015 games have also already been set. Florida State plays Oklahoma State next year -- just nine months after the Cowboys play at AT&T Stadium in the Cotton Bowl, and in 2015, Alabama faces Wisconsin.
