After parting ways with Al Borges, Michigan found his replacement very quickly.

Per reports from CBS Sports and Football Scoop, Alabama offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier will be the new offensive coordinator at Michigan.

According to CBS, Nussmeier will be one of the five highest-paid coordinators in college football. Nussmeier spent two years as Alabama's offensive coordinator after spending three years at Washington as the Huskies' offensive coordinator. He replaced Jim McElwain at Alabama after McElwain was hired as the head coach at Colorado State.

Borges was fired from Michigan after three years as its offensive coordinator. Michigan's offense struggled this season in a 7-6 season, especially running the football. Alabama averaged 212 yards per game on the ground and six yards per carry this season. Michigan averaged 131 yards per game and just 3.8 yards per carry.

Nussmeier was a fourth round pick of the New Orleans Saints in the fourth round of the 1994 NFL Draft after playing at Idaho. He played in the NFL for five seasons.

So who could be in the cards to replace Nussmeier at Alabama? Bruce Feldman threw out an interesting name.

Remember, Kiffin worked with Nick Saban and the Alabama staff late in the season.
