It’s not very often when the world of beauty pageants and college football cross paths, but it turns out that Miss America 2014, Nina Davuluri, is a big fan of the Michigan Wolverines.
For whatever reason, Davuluri, a Michigan grad, was making the rounds at Super Bowl radio row on Thursday and was asked about the Wolverines. Her response, according to MLive.com, sums up the sentiment of most Michigan fans in recent years.
“Oh, my goodness,” she said, shaking her head. “No comment on that.”
Davuluri graduated from Michigan in 2011 with a degree in brain behavior and cognitive science, and even with her pageant schedule and various Miss America appearances, she managed to make it to Ann Arbor for the regular season finale against Ohio State – a game the Wolverines lost 42-41 in heartbreaking fashion.
“I got to go to the Ohio State game this year, and it was so close. It was a good game right up until the last second,” she said. “It was such a tough season for us.”
The Wolverines finished the season with a tough loss to Kansas State in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl to end the season with a disappointing 7-6 record. In the past two seasons with Brady Hoke at the helm, the team has just a 15-11 record.
