Michigan assistant Jay Harbaugh fires back at Mark Dantonio

There has been plenty of excitement surrounding the Michigan program since Jim Harbaugh came on board, but Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio doesn’t seem to be buying it.

Dantonio’s team has won at least 11 games in four of the past five seasons, but Harbaugh and the Wolverines have been the more talked about program. How does Dantonio feel about that?

“Hey, we just work at it,” Dantonio said on ESPN’s “Championship Drive” podcast. “Right now, we’re selling results. I’ve said this over and over. We’re selling results. Other people are selling hope.”

Not long after, Jay Harbaugh, Jim’s son and Michigan’s tight ends coach, seemed to respond on Twitter.

The Spartans have dominated the in-state rivalry in recent years, winning six of the last seven games in the series. But with a new coaching staff in place, Michigan is clearly confident that it can return to its winning ways.

The two teams will square off on October 17 in Ann Arbor. It should be a good one.
