Adams left the game early in the fourth quarter after he got it in the head – seemingly intentionally – while sliding to the ground. He was dazed and didn't play another snap in Oregon's blowout win. EWU linebacker John Kreifels, the man who made the hit, was suspended by the team for Week 2.

Adams transferred to Oregon from Eastern Washington after the 2014 season. Before he left the game he had 246 yards passing and two touchdowns and had rushed for 94 yards on 14 carries.
