Here's your feelgood moment for the weekend.
Vanderbilt coach James Franklin gives senior walk-on fullback Marc Panu a full scholarship after praising him for his effort in practice the night before.
''You're talking about a guy who just came off knee surgery,'' Franklin said to his team. ''You're talking about a guy who keeps his mouth shut and loves being a part of this team. Watch him here (as Panu delivers a block) - finding a way to bring value to the team.
''That's why I'm so proud to let Marc Panu know that he's got a full scholarship.''
It's hard to go out to practice every day knowing that you're not getting the same rewards as many of the other players. So when a guy finally gets rewarded for all of his hard work, I think he should get as much publicity as possible. It's a good lesson that hard work does eventually pay off.
