Are you really optimistic about Auburn's chances against Alabama. Like, really, really optimistic?
If you are, we have the deal for you. An Auburn car dealership says that if you buy a car from them through November 29 and the Tigers shut out No. 1 Alabama in the Iron Bowl on November 30, your car is free. That's not too monumental of a task, is it?
The last time the Tigers shut out the Tide was in 2000, when Auburn won 9-0. That's duly noted in the Lynch Toyota ad, along with the other times that Auburn has blanked Alabama. Though we're obligated to mention that 2000 Alabama football team went 3-8 under coach Mike DuBose and lost its last five games of the season. Calling that season a stark contrast with the Nick Saban reign is an insult to stark contrasts.
Last year, Alabama shut out Auburn 49-0, though the difference between the end of the Gene Chizik era and the Tigers' first season under Gus Malzahn is up there alongside the DuBose-Saban comparison.
So, no pressure or anything, Auburn defense. A whole bunch of free cars could be riding on your shoulders.
