One of the worst-kept secrets in recruiting was finally resolved when five-star wide receiver Ermon Lane of Homestead, Fla. committed to Florida State. After de-committing from Florida in early January, it was only a matter of time before Lane would be joining the impressive recruiting class that the Seminoles have put together.
Lane, a 6-foot-2, 172 pound wide receiver, is the No. 28 overall player in the country and No. 5 nationally at his position. He joins his good friend Dalvin Cook in Tallahassee, after Cook also de-committed from Florida.
Lane took his only official visit to Florida State this past weekend. Some of the other top programs that offered Lane included Florida, Alabama, Miami, Auburn, USC and Ohio State. Lane was impressive at several events throughout 2013 and finished things off by showcasing his skills at the Under Armour All-America Game. He is the third five-star prospect to commit to Florida State, joining Cook and wide receiver Travis Rudolph.
